2021 Scholarships

We are thrilled to announce The Jeffrey Scholarship and LR&M Constructions Scholarship. These are offered as a way of encouraging and supporting disadvantaged young people who have a passion to experience, develop and understand the workings of live theatre but don't have the means to pay the production fee.

  • Must come from a disadvantaged background.

  • Must show and provide details of a keen and active interest in the performing arts and in particular theatre.

  • Must be between the ages of 10-13yrs for the Jeffrey Scholarship and 14-18yrs for the LR&M Constructions Scholarship on 1st Jan 2021.

  • Must be willing to prepare and attend an audition for the nominated production/workshop.

How do I apply?

Email the following items to wings2flytheatre@gmail.com by 8th May 2021

  • Download the application form here, ensuring it is fully filled out with a parent signature.

  • A personal statement about how you would benefit from this opportunity and what experience and expertise you have already undertaken OR a two-minute video submission detailing the same.

  • A short letter of support from a community leader: teacher, elder, employer, local artist, etc. The support letter should detail why you should receive a financial scholarship to support your participation, what you will gain from this experience – on a personal or professional level – and how the community will be supporting you to attend if needed.

  • A portrait photo of yourself (head shot)

We will shortlist within a few days and invite selected applicants to audition on 16th May 2021 at Slingsby's Hall of Possibilities. Audition information can be found here. From there, we will select the recipients of the scholarships.
